tHE CRISIS OVERVIEW
THE CRISIS OVERVIEW
The University of Birmingham International Model United Nations conference will truly be a unique experience for all delegates in the Model UN community. With the diversity of Model UN and Crisis Committees, you should expect a high-calibre conference that will intellectually challenge and develop your skills to deal with important issues in demanding situations. Through a multitude of Cabinet Committees from non-Eurocentric countries, the interplay between these committees will be something in a conference you have never seen before. This is your chance to be a part of it.
Crisis Committees are not ‘war games’. They are simulations where one must prove their ability to prioritise responsibilities and tasks in order to negotiate and strategically assess resolutions. You will be tested on how you delegate your position and commitments in an engaging and spontaneous environment. More importantly, every one of you will also become one with the crisis. The University of Birmingham is known for delivering the biggest Joint Cabinet Crisis conferences in Europe, where Crisis Committees will work together and against each other, not to mention the internal dynamics of each one.
You won’t be simply dealing with a Crisis, you will be writing a story in this simulation of realistic solutions to realistic problems. There are no fixed results or predetermined outcomes, if you are able to understand and implement your part to play then this is the conference for you. Open to delegates with little experience or Best Delegate awards, the beauty of Crisis Conferences enables everyone to bring something different to the table where you can work as a team and a leader.
